About Glasgow Mustangs Ice Hockey Club.

The Glasgow Mustangs Ice Hockey club was officially founded on 16 October 2012 after months of hard work behind the scenes by a number of enthusiastic players who wanted to create a team to participate in the growing arena of Scottish Recreational Ice Hockey.

Within days of the word spreading of this new team, the available spaces were filled and the founders voted on the Mustangs name as a tribute to a team of yesteryear based in Glasgow and to one of the greatest ice hockey movies of all time, Youngblood.

On 16 October 2012 the founders and majority of the playing squad held a meeting at Bar Varia at Xscape Braehead. All aspects of the club were discussed and the players and founders present voted on the first official comittee of the Glasgow Mustangs IHC.

The team will play and practice at the Braehead Arena but will also utilise other arenas in Scotland due to the high demand of ice time in Braehead.
